Our Commitment

Accessibility Is Not An Afterthought

For International Playing Field, accessibility isn't a feature we bolt on at the end — it's a foundation we build from. That standard comes directly from our founder's lived experience.

Why This Matters To Us — Personally

Our founder, Joseph Johnson (Speezy OTB), has been completely blind since 2015. He navigates the web every day using a screen reader, keyboard commands, and other assistive technology — and he knows firsthand how often digital experiences fail people with disabilities.

That lived experience is why accessibility is treated as a brand differentiator at IPF, not a compliance checkbox. We build it into our own website, and we bring the same standard to client projects.

What That Looks Like In Practice

  • Testing with real screen readers, not just automated scanners
  • Designing color and contrast choices for low-vision users
  • Writing meaningful link text and alt text, not generic placeholders
  • Building forms and navigation that work without a mouse

Our Standards

How We Build Accessible Experiences

WCAG 2.1 AA Standards

Every page on this site is designed and built to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA — covering color contrast, text resizing, content structure, and more.

Full Keyboard Navigation

Every link, button, menu, and form field on this site can be reached and operated using only a keyboard. A visible skip link lets keyboard users jump straight to the main content on every page.

Screen Reader Compatibility

We use semantic HTML, proper heading hierarchy, descriptive ARIA labels, and accessible names for interactive elements so screen reader users get the full picture — not a stripped-down version.

High Contrast Design

Our color system — Deep Navy, Electric Blue, Vibrant Purple, and White — is chosen and tested to maintain strong contrast ratios for text and interactive elements throughout the site.

Accessible Forms

Every form field has a clearly associated label, helpful instructions, and accessible error messaging. Required fields are announced, and nothing depends on color alone to convey meaning.

Readable, Comfortable Text

Body text is set at a minimum of 18px with generous line height, and every interactive element — buttons, links, and form controls — has a minimum touch target of 48px.
